Ask me what you want to know about the TopsCNC 🇬🇧

In this topic you can ask me what you want to know about TopsCNC. I will add the frequently asked question to the main design page here :
TopsCNC Heavy - Design page

But please, read this topic BEFORE ask a question, maybe someone already ask the same question !

The goal of this topic is to stay clear, so each others can find answers too ;)

Salut

Hi Topsie, hi all,

i have just finished the build of the CNC Heavy. Thank you for sharing the design, well done. I am impressed by the performance so far. As i was changing over from another design i was able to reuse many hardware parts like NEMA17 and such, just needed to print a little :-)...

I also have finished designing and first testing of a 43mm holder for the AMB1050 spindle i had, because i have not found a suitable one so far. Works well so far... maybe little changes needed but for me seems fine. If there is interest just let me know where to place the STL... i designed it such way that also the z-height is little decreased so the spindle tip is closer to the base.... as i am not very familiar with freecad.... there might be a more professional way of doing the design in the software itself but result is as i wanted it... learning by doing ... create for curiosity....

Hope i put this in right forum section... feel free to move it if it is not right place here....

cheers, Andre

Bonjour,

Salut

@Albin, malheureusement, il n'y a aucune règle.

Hi Topsie,Hi all

I have some question. I printed some parts and I think about wear between plastic wheel(wheel with bearing) and v-slot aluminium profile, because between these parts is  force press from moving spidle. Is it alright after making some models? How is your experience after some months of uses? Your designs is look like amazing but I show desings to my friend. He is machine engineer and he told me this.

Thank for all reply.

Hello Topsie,

What software are you using to generate your G-Code? Is there free software out there? I am using Alibre Atom 3D to generate my models.

Your design is very nice, I am in the midst of printing now, makes me wish I had more than one printer.

Thanks,

Phil
