List of components

All parts must be printed only once, except for those listed below:

3D printing to be printed multiple times

Nom Qté Notes
FrontLeft_Or_RearRight_Feet.stl 2
FrontRight_Or_RearLeft_Feet.stl 2
Wheel_Spacer.stl 20
BetweenWheel_Spacer.stl 8
YAxis_Bottom.stl 4
CBeam_Bracket.stl 2
DoubleYRail_Bracket.stl 4
T8Nut_Holder.stl 3
Dragchain Autant que necessaire

For the parts to buy:

Item to purchase

Nom Qté Notes
Nema17 motors 4
Rigid couplings 8 mm → 5 mm 3
V-Slot 2040 - X axis 5
V-Slot 2040 - Y axis 4
Trapezoidal nut T8 (length of the VSlot X) 1
Trapezoidal screw T8 (length of the VSlot Y) 2
Nylon wheels with 5 mm bearings (like on 3D printers) 20
Chrome smooth rods Ø8 mm — 220 mm 2
Trapezoidal screw Ø8 mm — 200 mm 1
LM8UU bearings 4
Standard bearings Ø8 mm (type 608ZZ) 4
GT2 pulley 20 teeth — Ø5 mm internal 1
GT2 pulley 20 teeth — Ø8 mm internal 1
GT2 closed belt — 200 mm to 220 mm 1
12V 5A power supply 1
Arduino (with GRBL) 1
CNC Shield V3 1
Makita RT0700C 1
Bearing housing (with stop screw) 1

Fasteners

Nom Qté Notes
M6 × 30 mm 12
M6 × 35 mm 4
M5 × 50 mm 8
M5 × 20 ~ 25 mm 20
M5 × 40 mm 12
M5 × 80 mm 4
M4 × 16 mm 100
M4 × 10 mm 8
M3 × 15 mm 16
M4 nuts for VSlot 100
Wood screw 4 mm 20
For each line of screws, also think about the nuts and a few washers.
M6 × 35 mm is VERY important for screwing the spindle mount onto the Z carriage, if the screws exceed this, it blocks the carriage.
M6 × 40 mm very important for the T8 nut mount on the X & Y carriages.

Recommended printing parameters

Suggested settings for printing the parts (although not mandatory):

  • Layer height: 0.2 mm (0.3 mm possible)
  • Infill: 50% (cubic)
  • Walls: 5 perimeter lines

Where to buy the components

I find most of the parts on Amazon (the links in the materials list) except for:

  • The long T8 trapezoidal screws: I buy them on AliExpress.
  • The aluminum profiles: I buy them from Systeal or Dold-mechatronik.
  • For the router/spindle, I use the Makita RT0700C, but there is also the Katsu 101750, less efficient and less precise but half the price of the Makita.
