Ask me what you want to know about the TopsCNC 🇬🇧
In this topic you can ask me what you want to know about TopsCNC. I will add the frequently asked question to the main design page here :
TopsCNC Heavy - Design page
But please, read this topic BEFORE ask a question, maybe someone already ask the same question !
The goal of this topic is to stay clear, so each others can find answers too ;)
@Topsie, is it ok if I put my woodworking company name on the ardunio box instead of Topsie?
Would following setup work:
- 3 x Nema23 2.8A motors with 3x DM556 stepper drivers
- 36V 15A power supply
- Arduino UNO
- TMC2209 driver for the Nema17 Z axis motor?
How much PLA do the printed parts approximately need?
HiTopsie,
The CNC machine works great. I cut a 30x30x20 cube from a board with no issues. More complicated cuts to come.
I wondered if you had designed a Z-axis carriage and bracket that would allow us to use the aluminum spindle mount that comes with the 500-watt, 52 mm Chinese spindle? Your design for 52 mm works great, but I think that the Chinese spindle could benefit from the aluminum as a heat-sink, since it gets really hot. The current design doesn't allow for the aluminum mount's mounting holes, it would need to be wider and still straddle the Z-axis drive screw. Just a thought. I can see why people upgrade to water-cooled spindles.
Thanks,
Benny
@kohfe yep dont forget to show me the result :p
@lauka Yes it will work ! that approximatly which setup I have
@Benny G Mooneyhan yes find me a draw of this parts and i will quickly release a part to use it ;)
Hi Topsie,
I've made a mistake buying my T8 trapezoidal, I bought the ones who makes 2mm 1 turn.
Should I get another ones who makes 8mm 1 turn or you thing those are ok?
You can use 2mm lead, but your max speed will be limited
Goodevening everybody, I'm a complete noob regarding CNC 3d drawings en 3d printing. When I have time I'm building electrical guitars. For making templates and because of the fun and joy it gives to make this CNC machine I started two weeks ago with printing the the pieces for the Nema23 CNC.
Today is the last printing ongoing:)
I was looking for the axes and foud TR12x8 3x1000 for 58 Euro including shipping and SF1204 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1320843059.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.6d653c006AhPlK&mp=1 (3x1000mm for 78Euro and shipping).
It looks i have 3 options; 1 TR8 and no need of modification or TR12x8 or SFU1204 and need of modification(s) for at least the nutholder and the lead holder (i guess to fit the bearings for tr12/SFU1204}.
Topsie or somebody else , would you design a nutholder for TR12/SFU1204 or will fit the online sale nutholders in the design.
Regards Robert
