Hallo Kamil,
thank you for your great design and your fast reply on Youtube. Since I already ordered the required parts to change to sfu1204 I have some questions regarding two parts I found on your thingiverse.
There is a file called "Platte_X_Hinten_Oben" in the "TopsCNC SFU1204 Komplett Umbau" folder posted on Dez 29, which isn´t mentioned in your video. Which purpose has this part?
In the "TopsCNC SFU1204 Umbau" folder posted on Oct 19 is a modified version of the X axis rear top (file name "XAxis_RearTop_NEMA23_SFU1204"). Since I saw your video (a lot of times) I know that this part is required because otherwise the ball screw nut won´t fit. In the original NEMA23 version made by Topsie is also a modified version of this part included, which has also a wider hole pattern. Are these parts the same or do I need to reprint it for fitting the sfu1204 ball screw nut?
Danke für deine tolle Arbeit!
Max
You don't have to reprint it. I don't know 100% anymore, but they seem to be the same.
edit.
I just did opened parts with fusion 360, I don't see any significant differences. Do you have fusion 360? Can you handle it? I can give you the complete file.
They are slightly different, the holes in Topsies NEMA 23 version of the rear axis are 40mm wide from each other and on your version they are 35mm wide. I know Fusion 360, but I´m simply going to reprint the z axis rear part since I am not satisfied with my already printed one.
Hey Guys, I saw this update and currently I am printing the original CNC V1. What Nema do you recommend? It is tempting to order the Nema 23 instead of the Nema 17 to double the power and make sure it has no problems with lineair movements. But even better than the Nema 17 1,8° degree 5kg/cm could be the Nema 17 0,9° 4,2kg/cm. With twice the resolution you'd think the quality of the machine would improve, but other say that with more torque of the Nema 23 you are sure of more constant results. Any opinions about this?
@Daniel
go for the NEMA23 version. I first printed the NEMA17 version and regreted it. These motors are for small 3D printers, they are running on their limit/have not enough power if you want to use your cnc the right way (in my opinion).
@Kamil
Could you maybe send me the exact linear rails you ordered since I´m modding my CNC the way you did and don´t want to buy/print something twice. That would be really nice!
lg
@Daniels : I don't think that nema 23 is a good choice for you as you arein process of printing V1version. This version is not strong enough to support nema 23 tork. Nema 23 is topcnc Heavy with somere inforcement. V1 is definitively too week
@Idefixes you´re right, have read it wrong and thought Daniel means the heavy cnc!
@ Max
You just have to buy MGN12 rails that are longer than space inside, you have to cut them with the flex to fit. And MGN12C carriages, these are the short ones. The MGN12H do not fit!
I can't give you a link because I took the rails from my Ender5 when Iupgraded it to linear guide.
Max I have misunderstood you. I thought you meant my designs from 10/19 and the one from 12/29. You meant the difference between mine and Topsie.... Yes, the hole spacing.
@Kamil
