Hi Kamil,
I have a question. I currently would like to add the linear bearings to my Nema17 build but keep the indirect z-axis drive.
I have been comparing your design to the Nema17 Long Z Axis version from Topsie's design and my conclusion is that I can simply print your front parts and change them without needing to print the top part and without needing to print the back parts. Is this correct?
Thank you for your response and thank you for your design!
Yes that is correct. You can keep everything except for the required plates where the linear guide is attached. Of course, you have to print the slide. The spindle mounting could be a problem if you have a different spindle than I do. I will see if I can adjust that. After all, 99% of Topsie cnc users have a round spindle.
Maybe the @Idefixes can make them available. he wanted to make it...

Have made spindle mount for Makita adapt to my Linear Update. I can not try this, but must fit. M6 screw should have 35mm.
Many thanks Kamil. I need to print the changes and also order the bearings and rails so I wont have feedback too soon.
The flanges on the spindle mount look a little weak so I might design my own. I will try to come back here with a thingiverse link when i do.
The bearings were surprisingly difficult to find in Germany. I used this link (NOT AFFILIATE): https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B07LCG63Q1/
These are My MGN12C

I have had rails. Converted my Ender 5 to linear and still had parts left.
They are inexpensive:

Hello Kamil,
What kind of shielded wire have you been using to connect the optical endstop to avoid any kind of interference?
Took a network cable for all sensors. But not the one for wall mounting, but a flexible one for end devices.
Hi Kamil,
You seems to be a great contributor of this project.
Could you give me your youtube videos link ?
Could you give me too your project link and the access ? my email : guillaume(dot)kuntz@gmx(dot)fr
Thanks a lot in advance
PS : How much did you buy your Nema motors ? I saw that the kit from Topsie is about 200€..

I bought the 3 stepper motors at that time for 60€, but did not use them. If you read the chat from the front, you will find that I use servo motors, but that does not matter. Both are Nema 23 8mm pin. The Z axis motor is smaller. You still need drivers for it. I recommend DM 680H, is very good driver.
