Hello
again, I have a question about where to buy the trapezoidal thread and the appropriate pitch for the characteristics of my machine.
First of all, I would like to
know where I can buy this material with custom lengths, so that I can adapt
these to the length of my machine.
I am building a Heavy version
with NEMA17 motors, I do not know what is the most recommended pitch ratio for
dimensions of the work area 1200x700 mm.
I have decided to choose
trapezoidal screw with 8 mm diameter and thread pitch 8 or 10.
Most build with 8x8 (anything finer takes to long to move) with Nema 17 (Ooznest in the uk sells them and nuts at not silly price more than china) Use one brass nut (so you need 4) and one print for backlash for each one But over 1m long they get expensive
But with Nema 23 (as its till in development ) there may be prob with 8mm bending under heavily load forces
updates to ball screws or 10 or even 12 mm tops is looking into at moment and updates in progress I sue finer pitch 2mm for Z but i am direct cupelling team 23 to z cart
PS just incase you down know you lose 250mm front to back (x) and around 200mm (y) of lengths of alloy and screws of build area
He didn't quite understand what
you mean, he saw the Ooznest page and located the trapezoidal screws, but now I
want to find the pitch and length necessary for my machine.
My machine has 1200x700 working
surface, the profiles that 1400 chose for the Y axis, but on the X axis it
compresses the wrong measurements, I did not add the 20 cm that Topsie told me
too much. So I have to order 900mm V-solt profiles again.
How big should my trapezoidal
screws be so they don't get short? I know that with 1400mm I will have no
problems because they will never be longer than V-Slot profiles.
So I should buy this x2 8mm
1557mm ACME Lead Screw, x1 8mm 807mm Lead ACME Screw and make the cut once
times. Is it correct?
Thanks.
In your situation, what thread step would you choose for a
1200x700 machine with NEMA 17?
2 MM would it be ok?
