Modified TopsCNC from Germany 🇬🇧
Hallo

Hello Kamil,
Could you please tell me what optical end switch you are using on your Z-axis? Are they the same for X and Y?
Thank you

What?
Robert sorry, I didn't see your post. You must have gotten the link. But do not write a mail address clearly if you do not want to get spam. To align the spindle moror I use sheet metal from a beer can. Washers are too thick.
Kamil, my previous post was adressed to Robert2703, according to his text of 13/01 compared to mine of 10/01. But no worries, take it as joke 😀
Returning to the subject, I was closely looking at your Z endstop enclosre "Endschalter Z Unten1" without understanding you were using optical endswitch.
But with the Seb76's question and your reply, It is quite clear now.
keep going this excellent thread !
I understood that it was a joke. I just didn't know what it was referring to.
I chose optical limit switches because they are wear-free. Whether this is a good idea, I do not know. One thing I do know is that limit switches are very important. In the beginning, during the setup, I had entered the slope incorrectly. Instead of 10cm, the cnc wanted to drive 100cm. Without the limit switch, it would now be defective.
@Robert
Which engine do you mean? The spindle motor, or the Nema23 on the Z axis? And where do you mean the washers?
@ Seb76
The switches are the same. The bracket is only different. The for X and Y axis I have not in the drawing. But I can also provide, if desired.
Hello Kamil,
Thanks a lot for your answer. Yes I would like the support drawing for X and Y, I also think it is important to have. I odered the optical end switch already.
hello Kamil, I too would be interested in the optical limit switch supports for the X and Y axis
thanks
I am finishing the mount of the end swithes on all axes, and very soon.......the LIFT OFF !!!! 🚀 🙂
But I am not really familiar with the config of GRBL and a bit confused with homing config.
Kamil, would you mind to post a screen capture of your GRBL config (especially the keys $20 to $25, do I have to choose between hard or soft limits, or to keep both activated ?)
It will be much appreciated.
thanks

I am disappointed... You have not seen my videos. Then you would know that, I use ESTLCAM and not GRBL. So I can't help you.
Everything I want to mill, I draw in Photoshop, convert in Adobe Illustrator, add in Fusion 360 and mill with Estelcam.
I am a graphic designer (Surfaces design), so I know a little bit about drawing programs. I taught myself Fusion 360 and Estecam while waiting for the 3d printer and parts from China.
