Hello, Im in the process of assembly of my new TopsCNC Heavy, and now I must decide wich router to buy.

I have question to all of You wich using makita router:  How are You able to use 3,175mm or other popular router bits?

Im not sure if ER11 drill mounts like this will work with makita?

I use this. You simply stick it into your existing 1/4" collet. I bought an extra 1/4" collet so I wouldn't have to pull the adapter out every time I switched to a bit with a 3mm or 1/4" shank.

To use ER11 collets, you will need an ER11 6mm collet chuck inserted into your existing 1/4" collet.

I used to do that, but I switched back to the method I described above due to excess vibration I didn't like. All my bit shank sizes are 3mm to 3.175mm or 6mm to 6.35mm, so the two collets I have cover everything.

Thank You for quick reply!

After I writed this post I just found one of this adapter on some store in my country. Now that I'm sure that this will work I will order makita.

I would like to ask one more question, there are two models avilible:

RT0700C and RT700CX2J, I cannot find anywhere information if they have the same diameter of body, can someone confirm wich model is better/preffered for TopsCNC?

Not sure about 700C, but mine is RT0701C, like this one.
