So I have been very excited since discovering your DIY CNC. As we spoke before (for everyone else to know) I started printing the parts list but since I'm wanting the Nema23 version, should I wait til the designs are uploaded OR are their parts I can be printing/purchasing now?
By the way, I realize how busy you are and understand how hard to work on design and do website.... I am not rushing you. I just really looking forward to this build.
Thanks again!!! -Chris
Hi,
I'min the same boat, have already started printing, but have decided to wait for the nema 23 version, and the design to settle down...may start working on the electronics. Was about to buy a Workbee, but this will be much cheaper.
cheers
Gary
I am currently starting up printing my Nema 23 Design, but I recommend building a base table before you build the CNC. Can't properly assemble this if you don't have flat solid base for it to sit on. :)
Sadly, cannot build the table yet. We do not know what the footprint will be. I can guess on it based on the desired work area but that wouldn't be very efficient. Have the tabletop space for the building.
You can already print all "YAxis_Bottom" "CBeam_Bracket" "DoubleY_Bracket" from the nema 17 version which will not change
Could we also already order the aluminium profiles and start turning them into v-slots?
And what do you think about dustin’s idea of using one 80-20 and two 60-20 profiles For the x-axis instead of using 5 40-20 profiles?
Yes you can of course !
It's maybe a good idea, less parts for the same rails, can improve the rigidity a bit
