Topsie,
Whats your top speed while milling?
For my setup I will be using a Duet Wifi so the processing power won't be an issue. I will likely still choose a 2mm screw witha 4 start. I should have very good torque and can run smaller, lower current motors (Duet Wifi max current is 2.4A). I plan to have the Duet paired to 3.0A steppers with The speed limitation will obviously be the issue I run into but I will cross that bridge later.
I am still confused though the TMC 2660 stepper drivers are rated for 4A, idk why the Duet is rated only for 2.4A. I would assume its just heat dissipation, which with active cooling on the board may help that.
If I do need higher current I will opt for the Duet 3.
I'm a bit confused with your screw talking...
So - T8 x 8 with a 2mm spacing is good..? not good..?
Obviously, we don't know the next steps for the Nema23 version yet...
Would it be worth beefing the screws up now.. different width/pitch/spacing... to accommodate the new hardware and controllers..?
or just buying beefier screws now...?
I intend to make a 1200mmx1200mm square machine... any help or links now would be fantastic
Thanks in advance
Jason
Following on from above...
nearly 2m for pocket change... with ali charging £45 + shipping...
Am i missing something here..?
and if I could use this... could i use the nema 17's and upgrade the motors/controllers later..?
